The museum is home to over 90 buses. Midland Red, WMPTE blue and cream and the corporation fleets from Birmingham, Walsall, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton are all represented, plus independent operators such as Harper Brothers, Soudley Valley and Blue Bus of Willington.

We are also home to the largest collection of battery electric road vehicles, including over 30 electric milk floats and bread vans from operators such as the Co-op, Midland Counties and Birmingham and Handsworth Dairies.

We are open at Weekends and Bank Holidays, plus Wednesdays during school holidays.  You can take a free ride on one of our classic buses and for the kids there's a miniature train giving rides (extra cost)

We have event days each year, Easter Sunday/Monday, May Day Sunday/Monday, May Spring Bank Holiday Sunday/Monday,August Bank Holiday Sunday/Monday and the 2nd and last Sundays in October. On these days we have extra visiting buses and sales stands.  Visitors are advised to check through the website http://wythall.org.uk/ and the Facebook page for the most up to date details.

  • Information for wheelchair users

The museum consists of two separate halls (The Power Hall and The Scania Hall), a toilets block and a separate building housing the shop and cafeteria. Everything is on one level and hard-surfaced. All ramps are compliant. A further building (The Shire Hall) is where we keep our operational vehicles and includes our engineering area. It is not intended as a display hall and gangway widths between vehicles may be impossible in parts for wheelchairs. Some of the vehicles are removed on our Event Days and the hall is then accessible.

  • On Event Days, we offer bus rides on our exhibits but you will not be surprised to learn that these buses were not designed for wheelchair access. For those with some mobility, staff will be pleased to advise you which buses have lower steps and easier access.

  • Carers

We offer free admission to a carer assisting a visitor with disabilities, please make your requirements known at the admission point.
